    1961 cowl vent color

    Is the underside of the cowl vent (screen) body color or is it black.

          To be a little more picky...

          ...I believe the vent was first dip painted black, then installed on the car, after which it went through the normal body paint process. At some point the vent was open, so body paint was applied to those areas in the way of the spray gun.

              Somewhere I had it in my small mind,that the cowl vent was was painted separate from the car, and was on the floor as it entered the spray area. ?

                  ...You may be absolutely correct. Would have made gasket install MUCH easier.

                      one of our c-1's (can't remember which) had a bare patch of fiberglass on the pass side floorpan, the outline of which corresponds to the shape of the vent. mike
