    66 427/390 Coil.

I see the Judging Guide says either 232 or 262 is acceptable for 66 427/390 NON TI cars. Would one or the other be "more likely" on a very late 66....like 23812 assembled June 10th, 1966. Thanks for the help.

My car , a '66 AIR AC coupe is #15521, and has it's original 232 coil in place. Hope this helps.

        Re: 66 427/390 Coil.

Noland comments on this in his Vol 2 restoration book in the section on the base engine where he defines ignition coils used. He points out that one of the PN's is listed with the second being designation [OPT] meaning the factory considered them to be identical and were allowed to freely substitute one for the other on the assy line. Use of one vs. the other would have pretty much a randome issue based on what was on hand in St. Louis inventory at the specfic time of vehicle assy and NOT a matter of early vs. late...
