    '63 info needed

'63 heater hose "T" fitting. Is it plated steel or aluminum. At the Auburn regional I believe the judges said aluminum was correct. This is the fitting that connect the heater hoses to the overflow tank.
Another question: '63 w/s washer hose. I was told more than once over the years that there is a clip holding the hose to the hood support on the drivers side. Yet I don't see this in the assembly manual and the judging manual makes no reference either. When did this clip first appear in the midyears?
One more: Is there a repro dipstick being made that has the correct codes and deeply embossed add, full, etc. My '63 is an early March car. If so who sells this dipstick. Thanks very much for your help.

John, I believe I have the original T from my 63. It is plated steel. The clip for the W/S host to the hood latch, as far as I know, is the same clip that holds the horn wire to the radiator shroud. I'm still looking for a dipstick for my April car.

That was hose not host. Sure wish I could go back and edit my posts.

          John, Harrt,

The clip attached to the LH hood lock assy for the W/S/washer hose didn't start to appear until some time in early 65 production. It's shape is different than that of the horn wire clip on the core support. The cradle section that the hose rests in is much wider.

                Re. WSW Hose Clips

                Hi John -

                My Tee is steel.

Are you referring to steel clips or plastic straps holding the hose to the hood support (hood release cable?)?

If you are referring to plastic straps, there are four translucent white straps used across the top of the firewall on a '63, and the WSW hose is routed through the two on the driver's side.

A lot of folks point to Sec. 12 Sheet A9.00 in the AIM and insist that there are only three straps (item 21 p/n 2328616). But have a look at Sec. 1 Sheet B23.00. That's where you'll see the fourth strap (item 7 p/n 2328616) and the WSW hose routing.

                Pete

That clip (3827371) was also used to retain the antenna cable to the I.P. brace forward of the cluster, to retain the courtesy light wires to the I.P. brace below the glove box, and to retain the forward lamp harness to the flange on the front side of the radiator support on the left side.

                    Re: Re. WSW Hose Clips

Pete, I want to thank you and the others for their input on my questions.
I was referring to the w/s wiper hose going to the washer bottle. I've been doing a lot of judging lately and I see most of the '63's had a clip holding the hose to the driver's side hood latch support. But Michael correctly pointed out as did others that the clip did not appear until early '65. The '63 aims manual doesn't show this clip nor does our JM. As far as the off white plastic straps holding the starting harness, etc. the boys are looking for 3 ro 5. I agree with you that there are at least 4 visible in the AIMS. I have some old aged yellow ones that look neat rather than the current pure white ones.
