Re: 1967 Headlight Trouble Shooting ?

The only mounting bolt I can see on the Passenger side motor is the one in the mounting bracket mounted to the header bar.

I don't see a clip on the motor support stud. I may see a clamp on the end of the shaft? Would there be a clip there? If so, what's the best way to remove it?

    Thanks again,

    Steve

There should be a spring clip on support stud. If their is a clamp I would not know but it does not belong there. Obviously it has to be removed to slide motor inboard & out. Both my motors had a spring clip on mt. stud. Don

Well Good News and Bad News!

I got the motor off, loosening the thumb screw stud helped. There are no thumb wheels on either motor, thier gone....

Also, the Right Hand motor looks to be a Left Hand motor "they" made work...

So does anyone know where I can get a Right Hand side Motor?

        Thanks For ALL your help,

        Steve

Glad you got it off Steve. Their are several vendors that sell them Or I usually see them on e bay.
p.s. I would start a new inquiry on tech line & am sure you will get good sources. Don

              Steve,

Why don't you post a picture, as a new post, of the left hand headlight motor taken out from the passenger side. This would have to be one for the Bubba book. Don't see how they made it work, but I learn something everyday (especially on this forum).

I think you'll find that the motor assemblies are pretty pricey. Paragon lists them at $450 a piece.

                Hi Jerry,

I'm not sure how to post a picture? what they did from the looks of it, was they turned the housing around, so the ground wire screwed to the back of the motor closest to the front of the car. They made a bracket that bolted to the correct bracket to the header and they drilled a hole in the backing plate for the long screw through the motor to the housing? Following me? Probably not with out a picture, oh yah, they welded a washer to the corner of the end plate
so they could use the second long screw.

I'll try to get some pictures up.

                Steve
