Does the 3"x4" rear seat mounting plate go under or above the carpet? This plate goes under the rear of each seat track and the mounting bracket bolts go through it and into the under body mounting plate that is reveted to the body.

These brackets are under the carpet mounted directly on the floor. It is not uncommon for original examples to have evidence of body color light overspray.
