date code "1535" denotes the 153rd day of 1975 or June 2, 1975.
The Holley 3310 carburetor, aka GM #3878261, was available in SERVICE until September, 1981. It may even have been available from Holley after that time. In any event, the fact that it was available from GM until 9/81 gives us very good reason to believe that it was still being manufactured in 1975 (and, likely, for quite awhile thereafter).
Also, the date coding system used wouldn't have been the one used for 1965, so that lets that possibility out. Since the carburetor probably wasn't being manufactured in 1995, that pretty much lets that possibility out. Hence, I'd say that June 2, 1975 was the day. By the way, it was a Monday.
Not to long ago someone gave a date code for a 67 that was 721 and the response was first week of Feb. 1967. That is a different way to determine date than the example in this post. What gives ?
