Re: C2 Brake hose

I don't know who supplied the original brake hose assemblies for Corvettes. More than likley, it's a company that most folks never heard of. Many companies which supply parts to the OEM do not also supply parts in the aftermarket. So, their names are not familiar to most folks. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that some internal GM manufacturing entity of the day produced them.
As far as the HOSE portion of the assembly goes, most of the hoses on the market today look very similar to the originals----black rubber hose with thin longitudinal ribs. The printing and/or striping on the hoses differs, though.
As far as the crimp connections go, I've never seen an aftermarket hose, of yesteryear or currently, with the same crimp style as the original hoses, PRODUCTION or SERVICE. There is no reproduction hose that I know of that has the same crimp style either----nothing even close to the originals.
However, if the hoses on your car are, indeed, originals then my STRONG suggestion to you is to replace them. These hoses deteriorate from the INSIDE. The outside might look just fine, but the hose may be "way far gone". Forget about original crimps or other nuances of configuration----replace ALL of the hoses NOW.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
