C2 accelerator (throttle) rod

[Mitch NCRS #40813]

Looking to identify the correct "chamfer" on a 1965 SB throttle rod. Should the threaded portion run all the way into the thicker section of the rod or do all GM rods have a thinner, unthreaded section before it returns to the full rod diameter? And how long should this mecked-down section be? Have seen several different configurations.

Looks to be 1/16 " between thread and full diameter. The reproductions I purchased( 2 ) are very different. The seem to have a MUCH larger gap not machined correctly.

Thanks for input. Did you find anyone of repro manufactureres making it correctly?
I see Chicago and Corv America have wrong one - also looks like Paragon may have some necked down as well

Mitch ... no I did not find a manufacture that did a correct one. I ended up finding a nice original at the NCRS Florida Winter Regional in Kissimmee, Fl. You might try www.tracyvette.com . They aways seem to have a good supply of original parts ... Ed
