The left side rear exhaust mount is mounted to the frame using a 5" adaptor plate in order to mount to the frame. I noticed the holes for mounting the back of the pipes to the frame are not in the same spot the left side is 4" or more foward than the right side. is this normal

Re: 67 side exhaust
The correct mounting for the rear bracket ahead of the rear wheel is a slot in the frame with a hole at one end to allow the head of a "carriage style bolt" to pass thru and slide into the slot. The mounting location on both sides is approximately 5" from the end of the frame rail. There may be some minor dimension differences for bolt location between SB and BB but the slot and hole should be identical. The slot allow "adjustment" for these small differences....
The only "bracket" should be the one welded to the pipe with a large hole to accomodate the rubber mounting donut and bolt.- Top

Re: 67 side exhaust
thanks Steve, my key hole frome the back of the frame is 4.5 in. on the right side. On the left side it is 7 in. to the center of the key big hole. After reading your thread It appears my frame was repaired in this area. You can bearly see the weld were a piece was welded in. But the key hole was not aligned properly. Thanks Terry- Top
