C5 Magnesium Wheel Repair

Does anyone have any experience with repairing or attempting to repair scratches, gouges and/or curb rash on the C5 Magnesium Wheels. What is the repair process, and is it economically reasonable? Thanks!

Hi Kevin -- good to see you back here.
There are usually cast wheel repair companies in larger cities. My suggestion would be to find one a close to you as you can. If there are any used car dealers nearby -- ask them for a referral.

I think you will find that the answer depends on how bad the damage is, and the degree of variance from original you are willing to tolerate.

There's a company named Keystone that repairs/refinishes wheels on an exchange basis. They are used by many new car dealers here in the Northeast.

If you look in the classified section of "AutoWeek" magazine, there are always eight or ten outfits advertising aluminum wheel repairs.
