    seat belt and gas tank

I have two questions first one is that i am replacing the seat bealt reinforcement (insides) and i had possed the question did this have a washer and rivet combo. I got response that only a rivet well i looked at the aim for the year 62 and it shows a rivet washer combo. I am wondering if i reinstall with this combo will it be correct or is the aim not right? Second question is that i pulled the gas tank cleaned replaced all parts and tried to reinstall and for some reason the tank came out easier than putting back in and i am wondering if the pads i replaced under the tank has any bearing? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You

Re: seat belt and gas tank

    Adam...

The seat reinforcements rivets have no washer. There is a washer (actually a thick spacer that goes on the bolt between the belt bracket before attaching the nut & washer.

Your tank pads are ok...getting the tank back in takes patience and getting the right angle as it enters the back of the seat wall. Best get the tank straps in place and use a long socket extension to tighten them up. This may take a little practice...(also watch out for the bent over tank corners...they may bite.)

    Good Luck.
