I need to buy a set of repro redline tires for my 67 that will be judged. In the past Coker has had the Firestone Deluxe Champion but now they, ( and Ecklers ), sell a Firestone SuperSport model. I have heard some people on this forum say that the SuperSports are not correct to the originals. I also don't think that the Corvette came with a Deluxe Champion redline model in 67. I would like to hear what people on this forum have to say and suggest. Thanks, Don

Re: Which redline tires are the better choice?
Firestone Deluxe Champion branded tires were produced with white sidewalls, but never with gold and/or redwalls. Fact is, the gold/redline tires are a breed apart from the whitewalls because they have a wider treadwidth. These were SPECIAL tires produced for Corvettes. The original Firestone specials were the Super Sports. The original Goodyear specials were the called Power Cushions, just like the whitewalls.
Goodyear gold/redline reproduction tires have been in in existence for quite a long time, and are generally accepted as faithful reproductions.- Top

The redline/Goldline tires are not to be confused with the WW version, the tread width as well as the tore cross-section are sugnificantly different. That is all faithfully reproduced in the Kelsey tires.Bill Clupper #618- Top
