Holy Catfish Roy, Is that for real

Maybe the stamper banged his head against the 427 hood.

The hood fell on his head because the stand wasnt attached right.

Re: Pad ## guys look at this

Yes it is real , the original engine and I can prove it , your going to have to trust me, but I know vary well many art going to, and I don't really care to argue with them. If you also look real close you see a shadow of the 4 and 5 above the numbers. I've seen this happen before on other Vetts, but not this bad. Like I said before I seem to always have the odd ball out Corvettes and this one having the hood and trim number off too that make many think the Corvette is S%$#* . That ! Again is OK , NCRS will never see it again any way.
So what do you guru's think ? Lets hear it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like it was stamped 3 times, and the guy was counting to 5 with 4 fingers Didn't they use a little rack that held the numbers together.

I guess you'll have to come clean...

and just put the original L89 back into it so the pad will be stamped right!

                Just kidding!

                Have fun with your car,

Roy, You call it what you want...

                    ...whether it's a SB/BB hood, a Steel Cities Gray 55 or this pad, you're on your own. I wouldn't touch any of the 3 w/a 10'pole.

But as you note, I'm sure "you" can "prove it" ...

                      what would have happened if

the original engine blew at the end of the assembly line or in the parking lot at the factory? Would there be a "heavy repair" area to tackle this? Did they use the gang stamp or was a "new" engine hand stamped with a VIN derivative?

Re: Pad ## guys look at this lyndon

No! Having my Corvettes judged is just not my thing, I did have it judged once , in the last 27 years but I really drive my vetts and as many know I install accessories. This 67 would start to many arguments about it as it has before (hood) and as you see the engine pad would also.
That is why I posted the pad to show that not all were perfect and people can say what they think happened with out me being a fended ,
                        It may help other !

You always was good at attacking a person first ,rather then having a discussion as to why or how something may have happened .
As always I hope the best to you and your High NCRS status credentials

OK, it was halfway thru the third shift and MaryLou was stamping and Max was standing right behind her doing what Max does best.......checking the alignment....a little imagination goes a long way!!
