chattering windshield wipers

1980 corvette 38000 miles Wipers start to chatter after 8 to 10 cycles. Blades have been changed twice, different mfgrs.Terminals checked for corosion and cleaned. Wiper switch being replaced as pulse function no longer works. Can this be removed from the front or do you have to go at it under the dash??

M, Do your blades chatter only in one direction? If they do, I have found that the wiper arm is twisted in one direction. If your arm has a pin that enters the side of the blade, it tilts the blade, and will wipe in one direction, but catches and then releases, or chatters. Look at the blades when it is on the shield, if it looks like it is laying more to one side then the other, gently bent the arm in the other direction. I hope this helps. Joe

if you must drive your corvette in the rain try Rain X on the windshield.it should stop the chatter.
