I'm trying to determine what the correct overspray pattern should look like on the intake and exhaust manifolds and possibly the valve covers of 68-69 427s with iron heads. I'm not sure if the chrome valve covers were installed before or after paint so I don't know if they should have had overspray as well.
What I would like are a few good quality pics that show what the overspray from engine painting should look like along the perimeter of the intake manifold as well as the tops and between the ports of the exhaust manifolds.
I'm not concerned if the photos are of restored or unrestored original examples just as long as they are typical of production engines of 68-69 vintage.
Any help with this is much appreciated as I'll be getting close to painting the engine before too long and I want to be sure that I am well prepared in advance.
If you don't feel comfortable posting them here, my e-mail is linton@telusplanet.net
Thanks.
