71 small block,no smog setup?

Is it true , with the exception of the big block cars and the LT1, 1971 cars did not use smog pump/ diverter/manifold trees etc?

Yep, it's true. In 1971 only solid lifter Corvettes got the Air Injection Reactor (AIR).

Thank you for the quick response. I would have sworn it would have since earlier cars with small blocks had them. I'm learning all the time.

My 70 350/300 does not have the referenced smog system.

Jerry, I doubted it and was confident to bet until you pointed out that your car was top flighted. Then I believed it but just could not comprehend why it wouldn't be required. Thanks for the lesson!
