Weird cove colors available in 1956?

The April, 1956 issue of Hot Rod magazine had a two page ad for the "NEW Corvette V8 with Close-ratio Stick Shift!" The ad text contains a list of available color combinations. Two in particular caught my eye: Cascade Green with Dark Green body side coves and Arctic Blue with Dark Blue coves. I've never heard of these two cove color options before.

Has anyone ever seen factory paint jobs like these, or are these two combos simply advertising BS?

Back then some of the dealers would repaint the coves on new Corvettes different colors on solid color cars.

Some pigs are more equal than the

others. In 1959 or '60, Phil Passon (RPE =s Resident Professional Engineer at St Louis) got a white car with turquoise coves....at St Louis.
