C1 steering arm/spindle to back plate torques

I have a 58. Can anyone tell me what the torque specifications for the upper and lower nuts securing the brake back plate to the steering arm and spindle? I have looked in the 1953-1962 Corvette Servicing Guide, the 1958 Assembly Manual, and the 1958 Chevrolet Pass Car Shop Manual with no luck. Thanks for your time and assistance.

Perhaps someone can give you the exact torque specs but those nuts have to be tight - I'd say around 70-80 ft-lbs. Check and see if the through bolts are grade stamped. If they are grade 8 (6 dashes), wrench them down good! Hope this helps.

Go here. http://dodgeram.org/tech/specs/bolts/SAE_bolts.html When all else fails I use this as a general guide. Hope this is what you are looking for. David Bodily
