Im getting ready in a couple of weeks to bring my 75 to get media blasted. My question is how to handle the stress cracks. I have a few that i can see real well with the red paint and I was worried that after it gets blasted I wont be able to find them as easy. So I was thinking of taking care of them right now, but Im not sure how. I was told to make a "V" groove in them and use resin to fill them in. I was also told that the resin will sink alittle in a few weeks so Ill have time to touch up. Also, if I do this will the media remove this. Any suggestions on what product to use would be very helpful.

Re: stress crack
Eddie, make a mental note of approximately where your cracks are and then, after media blasting, you can just wipe down the suspect area with a clean shop rag with lacquer thinner on it. The cracks will stand out for 30 seconds or more. I did this on my 66 with great success. Gary- Top

Just to expand on Gary's idea here.... Take a few rolls of pictures or video tape all the spots before hand. Don't just rely on notes or memory. Pictures are worth far more than 1000 words. :-) ~Juliet2019 Sebring Orange 8-Spd Coupe (daily driver & autocross) 6k mi.

Re: stress crack
If you cut a "V" grove over the crack and fill it with resin it will surely reappear. I used Ecklers products and followed their book advise. In the area of each crack you need to grind away an area large enough to lay in the fiberglass and resin. I did that to both sides (where I could access the back) and after 5 years no cracks.- Top
