1965 Unique Front License Bracket Positioning

I have a 1965 327/300 coupe with factory a/c. My license plate is currently centered between the two front bumpers as you normally see it. I've just been told that the proper positioning for the license plate on an air car is just underneath the driver's side front bumper as the center positioning did not allow proper air flow for radiator cooling. Does that sound right, and if so, does anyone have a reference for me to read about or see a photo of the proper bracket and positioning? Thanks.

I think that's a BB only position for the plate holder.

The license bracket you mention is 1967 L36/L68 with air conditioning (C60) and Powerglide (automatic transmission) M35 only.

I have a 66 4 speed with AC. My front plate mounts center between the bumpers. Although I have removed the front plate and bracket for 30 years.
