    Jim,

Two other Corvette forums have sections dealing with your inquiry in depth. Try these as well, Corvette Forum.com and Corvette Action Center.com. An indepth look at each model years improvments will reveal that Chevrolet finally got their ducks all in a row with the 2002 model year and beyond. Essentially '02, '03 & '04 were all pretty much issue free.

      i owned a new 97,99 and 02

and i can say i had no big problems with any of them. i would think if any model was owned by someone who took care of the car and had any problems fixed under warranty it should be fine. remember these are not fix it yourself cars as you need a GM tech II scanner to run down most problems. any GM dealer can run the VIN for you to see how much service work was done on the car by the dealers

I agree, check the other forums and you will see that there were many issues through the 04 model year that were never addressed by G.M.
