        Re: Judging

Here is the enhanced photo. My take as a non-expert is the stamps look good but the pad surface has been fooled with, or was rusty and then cleaned.

          Re: Judging

while others take a look and form an opinion, i still am not clear about my point deduction. my interpretation is that i should have lost only 38 points for failure to detect broach marks. the block number is 870 and the casting date is C 6 65 and the VIN number matches the VIN number under the dash. (The VIN and Trim tags were given no deductions) The car has an April build date according the sequence of the serial number

I might add that apparently due to inclement weather i was not asked to remove my ignition shielding from the distributor area and no questions were asked nor review given of my block casting components.

I sincerely not attempting to make this a witch hunt nor call into question the sincerity of the judges. My sole purpose is to learn how to discuss this issue should it come up the next time i have the car judged - and i am assuming it surely will.

So, net result - with everything apparently correct but the broach marks should i lose 350 or 38 points ?

again, thanks all for the input.

            Re: Judging

I think your interpretation is correct, but the place to raise it was during judging when you could have challenged it. People here are likely uncomfortable saying more than what I just said and what was previously said without seeing the car in person during a judging meet.
