C3 Exhaust System Replacement

The current exhaust system on my '73 coupe (L-82 engine) needs to be replaced. Does anyone have a recommendation for what works (sounds) best or is this a purely subjective issue? Thanks for any comments.

I have found the system from Volunteer Vette in Knoxville TN fits good and is somewhat like stock in muffler shape,pipes, and is reasonable in price. If used for judging it will lose some points as most systems do as the bends are not as original. I have used this vendors exhaust knowing how bad others were to get the tips straight out the back beizel and Volunteer pipes line up easy.

I have a 1978 that Im doing a restoration on. The cheapest Exhaust system I've seen has been from paragon. Also does any body know who sells the exhaust system with carbon steel pipes like the orginals?

jerry, i have recently restored two 73coupes. on both cars i installed new complete exhaust systems that i purchased through corvette central. this was a 2" to 2 1/2" aluminized system and on both cars i upgraded the mufflers to the magna flow option....not only did the systems fit and install nicely, it sounded great also. i would reccomend this to you! rick

I've installed the 2.5" aluminumized exhaust with the Magnaflow option from Corvette Central as did Rick. As for judging, I may have lost some points but I received some very nice compliments on the exhaust system.
