C1 Steering Box

Looking for someone East of the Mississippi that rebuilds C1 steering boxes. Am I right in assuming they are a little different then 49-53 Chevy steering boxes?

The ratio is different (sector and worm are different) but the principle and the bearings, races, etc. are the same. You can put a 49-54 sector and worm in your steering box and it will feel like power steering--but will be slower response.

Is it something a do-it-yourslfer can do? If not any suggestions as to where to have it done.

The "feels like power steering, but slower to respond" doesn't sound like such a bad idea, anyone that has done that care to elaborate?
