Midyear Carpet Underlayment

Getting ready to install my Al Knock underlayment and carpet in '65 coupe. Does anyone have pictures of the original underlayment as installed from the factory? I would like to see a picture for guidance in this part of the project.

Rob,

I just installed an Al Knoch carpet kit in my 66 roadster about a year ago. Lay underlayment out on floor dry (front and back ) first. At least in the roadster, the rear storage area goes down like a puzzle -- i.e., pieces fit together. You may have to do a little t******* but not much. The underlayment is the easy part. Carpet can be a little bit of a bear -- could suggest a 2nd hand for the carpet. Good luck.

Click on the following link, and then look at photos 350-357, in that order. First down is the underlayment, then the felt in front only, then the carpet. Pictures are from my '65 roadster.
