My clutch is grabbing very high up in the travel and I noticed that the adjustment nut is right at the end. If I turn the nut further onto the shaft will that lower the point where the clutch grabs?
thanks
It depends on which end of the travel that the nut is located. If the upper rod is now fully shortened, then I'm afraid that you've got problems.Try moving the nut and see what happens. If the engagement point begins to move the pedal downward, then make final adjustment to provide approximately 1 1/2" pedal freeplay.
If movement of the nut WORSENS the position (engagement with higher pedal), then suspect either an improper bellcrank, clutch rod, or, most likely, ball stud in the bellhousing. Your bellhousing should have the short ball stud. Many times, the long ball is improperly used.
