New paypal scam................

Everyone, please be aware there is a new paypal scam. Today I got a suposed letter from paypal that used my NAME and suposedly confirmed payment for a set of encyclopedias. The price was reasonable The letter also gave me the option to contest the transaction by directing me to a link that looked like paypal and of course you had to enter your personal information. I sent it to paypal and they said it was a spoof.

I sent a leter back to whom ever sent it (expressing myself) and it responded with a paypal thank you letter???? Sort of funny. Then I proceded to block it and send it to AOL to follow up on for what its worth.

I receive a couple of those every month. It's been around for a while. The best advice is to never respond to any email from ebay or paypal. A real message from ebay or paypal will show up on your account. Also, ebay and paypal will never ask for your personal information. Just forward the emails to spoof@paypal or spoof@ebay.

If these people would spend as much time earning an honest living, as they do trying to rip people off, they would probably do just fine.

I had $500 bogus charges added to my paypal acct.(later reversed by paypal).
This is why one should not raise Paypay limit over $500 minimum. Don

Over payment scam

Another one is the buyer of your part sends you more then the part was bid for, so you being a nice guy contact them, they thank you and tell you to just send them the difference with the part, they stop payment and get your money and your part Phil 8063
