I need help identifying a GM small block curently installed in a 1962 Corvette. This is a non original application block, and probably an over the counter purchase. The engine pad is clean and unstamped. The casting number is 3959512. The casting date appears to be F 6 2. There is a clock cast on the block that may indicate the block was cast in Saginaw post some time in 1964, so the casting date may be 1972. All information I have indicates this is not a Corvette application block. Can anyone identify the correct GM model application, year, cubic inch, and horsepower of this mystery block?

Re: Non Original Engine Block Identification
The website http://www.nastyz28.com/sbchevy/sblock.html indicates its a 327-250 HP
cast in the years 62-63. Threre is no original vehicle application so its probably an over the counter replacement.- Top

Re: Non Original Engine Block Identification
There is nothing stamped on the front pad of this block, it is blank and clean.
I had a hunch this was an over-the-counter service replacement block but I couldn't find any info about it. I believe my question has now been sufficiently answered. Thanks guys!
