C1 Whell Cylinders.

I just took the brakes apart on my '56 and found I don't have the original cylinders at the front. The part/casting numbers on rear ones are 5450649. Would anyone know the part/casting numbers for the front ones should be?

Roy, I know the 820 are correct for '53-'54 rear but are they also correct for the rear of the '56? His question is in regard to the front wheel cylinders for which you show the 821 and 822. They are correct for the front but I thought my '56 parts book called out the 649 number for the rear of the '56. I don't have it with me right now for reference.

My experience is that the 649 was used for standard brakes for 56-62. The 821 and 822 were used for fronts from 56-60, while another pair was used for fronts in 61-62. I want to say 528/529 but I'm doing that for memory, as I'm here at the office.

Memory was close--should be 527/528.

Corvette or car of the 50's that I know of but not certain,originals will have the the last three numbers enlarged , what part number is correct I'm not sure only showing what original cylinders part numbers should look like, which replacments or newer wont show.
I'm not a number guy , but in to first ,second and third design looking parts and original parts.

Pierre, If you're attempting a restoration to original specifications, you should further note that the bleeder valves have are threaded internally and have a plug screwed into the opening. You can see this in the photo Roy provided. It's easier to get that right while you have them apart than wait until you've assembled and bled them only to find out you'd like to replace the bleeder valves.

Thanks for the info Bernie, I didn't know that. I see that CC has these bleeders for sale but quite expensive. I'll see if I can pick up some at Corvette Carlisle in August.
