Chevy engineers from the '60s ID & info???

I would very much appreciate any information, including correct names and scope of duties of the two signers of this document from '64. I am researching an FIA homologation request for a '64 Chevrolet in the Touring Class.
    Thanks in advance.

Can't make out the names, can you spell them out, or enlarge that portion of the document? I have a document from 1969 that has a couple of names on it, might be interesting to see if they are some of the same?

    Cheers,

    Steve

Verne, I can't quite read, and can't blow it up, but the two men who signed this document are Walter T. Burwell and Walter R. MacKenzie (better known as "Mac"). Their Engineering titles at the time are typed below their names.

        Maybe this is better

One name appears to be Burwell, the other possibly MacKenzie. Mr George Rand was the secretary of the Automobile Competition Committee for the United States FIA, Inc. Madison Ave. NY. This is the second page of a two page letter. The first page covers changes to gear box ratios and axle ratios from the original application documents.
This is a very interesting investigation, since it involves a direct effort by Chevrolet to qualify special limited production hi-perf equipment for sanctioned racing overseas, long after the infamous Jan-Feb corporate racing activity ban by GM. At least one car was built, as I have (terrible) photos of it submitted with the application. The car was approved and entered for a race in France, but was a no-show. The entry was not made by a US citizen.
Thanks again. Any help with this research is greatly appreciated.

Thank you Art. Can you elaborate any on their scope of responsibilities or any of their specific other undertakings during that time frame?

Not right off the top of my head, but I would suggest that you get in contact with Loren Lundburg................he knows this subject very well.

                Thanks.....but

I can not make that reunion. Is there is any way that you (or anyone) could tell me how I might be able to contact him for this research project? I feel that this is a significant event in Chevy's racing involvement. Some people within Chevrolet were actively building equipment and applying for sanction for racing the same 7 months after the official ban. The original application was dated Sept. '63. The work was obviously underway some time before that. Thank you!

                        Identification of signature on document??

The letter from Burwell and MacKenzie was addressed to the Secretary of the Automobile Competition Committee for the US FIA, and his name was George C. Rand. However another 8 page document submitted from that same office under the same title was signed by another person. Just by chance, does anyone recognize this signature?
                        Thanks

Verne what do you mean by this: " submitted from that same office under the same title" ?

Re: Identification of signature on document??

I meant that the other memo that was signed by Burwell and Mackenzie was addressed to Mr. George C. Rand, secretary of the ACCUS FIA, but this memo/form apparently from that office, was signed by someone else of the same title, secretary (noted below the signature). I expected the signature to be Rand's, but it obviously is someone else. Maybe there were two secretaries? Maybe the position changed? ???
The two page memo from Burwell and Mackenzie was sent March 18, 1964 and contained supplemental data to be added to the original Homologation Form which they had sent on Dec. 31, 1963. Unfortunately there is no date on the 8 page document issued by the FIA which contains complete specifications of the approved car. The document is titled, "FORM OF RECOGNITION IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPENDIX J TO THE INTERNATIONAL SPORTING CODE", and is assigned FIA Recognition No. 1169. It is that document which is signed by the unknown person in my last photo.
I was just curious who that person might be because I don't want to overlook any possible resources who might be available to help unravel this (overt?covert?) participation in racing activity so soon after the "Thou Shall Not" edict. I find this to be a fascinating scene in the play of Chevrolet's involvement in racing and I intend to follow any leads I can muster.
