    55 wiper motor

Because the 55 Corvette & early 56 wiper motor is like no other Corvette motor you rarely see one for sale, but you can find a (first design) 55 truck motor that is the same but for the backing plate and cover part#.
You only need to exchange the back area with your bad 55 motor or any year C1 motor and you now have a 55 Corvette motor, like I said the front plate wont have the correct part# but some one now is reproing one having the correct # number or take a point hit .
Remember they made more trucks then 55 Corvettes so you should be able to find one on e-bay for less then $100.00 rather then buying a Corvette one for $300.00 and up which I think the dealer knows and does what you now know to do and can save money.

Lyndon! I see you don't have a 55 but interested in them , only a couple people here have one I guess and rep lie to any thing I put up , we've had it now over 27 years and a 67 for 25 years. They are the two models I like the best.

no Roy, I just have the 71. But I have a soft spot for the C1 53 -62. dont know why just like those years think they are neat cars. dont think I could fit in one though, as I am 6'4" tall. I need the room the c-3 has other wise I would stick out over the windshield!

so start looking under trucks for some parts you may need!

It's true! In 1987, the fuel

sender and gauge both fried in my '55, and a Chevy truck provided the gauge guts and fuel sender to fix it. The only difference which was not "fixable" by combining parts was the rheostat on the sender was tapered to account for the tapered bottom of the Corvette tank, while the truck was not. Result: The fuel gauge works perfectly, except that the last 1/4 tank gets used up faster than the rest of the scale. Small price to pay for everything else being "right".
