    1955 generator/transmission linkage

I was wondering if spacers were used on the generator? The bracket is larger than the two end plates of the generator.

Also, the 55 I am restoring was an old drag car and it had a large hole in the floor where a standard transmission was put in. I have installed a transmission out of a 55 chevy car. The linkage was purchased from Grossmuellers, but the throw is all wrong. Does the small 3" linkage have to be changed? Maybe I am looking in the wrong area, can you help?

    Thanks in advance

No spacers were used , you may have a 57 bracket, about the throw, what do you mean and no the 3" is the same.
