I've just now returned from enjoying this animated gem of a tribute to Route 66, NASCAR, Richard Petty, 1949 Mercs, 1951 Hudson Hornets, simpler times, friendships, and all things automobile related. It is a delightful movie which left me happy, sad, and misty eyed.........I highly recommend it for anybody who loves cars.
Just to keep this post Corvette related, there are 2 notable tributes/references to Corvettes in this flick. First is when the lead character, a young aspiring NASCAR talent (portrayed as an amorphous NASCAR aerobody with slight resemblance to a Mazda Miata), asks the female lead (fittingly,a Porsche Carrera) whether or not she ever had "eyes" for any good looking Corvettes. The second reference comes when the lead character's newfound friends decide to give him a "makeover". This includes a new paint job sporting white coves just like many '56-'61 Corvettes.
Joe
PS: I hope that I might have missed some more Corvette references. If I have, then please add them on.
