Some time back I posted a question regarding the shift ball on the shifter of my 61. I got one response from an owner with a reproduction ball. The question is, does an original shift lever ball allow any threads on the shifter to remain exposed when fully screwed on? The reproduction ball leaves about 3 threads showing, other than that, I don't think it differs from an original shift lever ball. Is there a top flight or a known original driver that could have a quick look and respond . Does an original shift lever ball screw all the way on the shift lever and cover all the threads? Thanks
