lower steering spring removal?

Is there a procedure outlinded somewhere for removal / dissassembly of the lower steering gear? I have the steering gear out of the car, so now would be a good time to remove and clean the spring, and plastic bushing if it can be done fairly easily?

Can some one point me in the right direction or outline the process for dissassmebly?

Sorry! It's a 68 Coupe w/PS and Tele.

i assume you are referring to the steering column, not the steering gear. anyway, i believe the 68 tele col is very similar to the 2nd edition 67 tele col. i rebuilt my 67 tele col 20 years ago. there is an illustration in the chevy parts book that aided me. parts were available from long island back then. i'd definitly replace the lower bearing assembly. good luck, mike
