I determined that an engine I have is a 350 4 barrel 2 bolt main from a 1975 truck. I would like to build this engine to produce around 300 hp with smooth idle and good reliability. Would I be able to accomplish this by substituting the pistons and cam and keeping the same block, heads, intake and Qjet carb? If so, what would be the "best" way to accomplish this? Orginality is not a major issue.
GM Performance Parts has an add on page 29 of the August issue of Chevy High Performance that shows their 350/290 HP @ 5100 RPM engine all dressed up and ready to drop in. So many choices of engines from GM Performance Parts.
