    Broken headlight motor mount screw

The headlight motor mounting screw on my 66 roadster that contains the rubber mount and screws into a welded nut inside the top front header, galled and the nut welds broke. The nut cannot be replaced inside the header because of inaccessibility. I'm thinking of epoxy cementing a nut to the outside of the header panel over which the rubber mount will sit. The nut looks like a 3/16 in. into which the mount bolt threads. Any better ideas?

They sell a pop rivet type of clinch nut that will be a far better solution and hold better, while not looking obtrusive if you fright judge.

Who sells the clinch nut that you described? How is it installed, wih a pop rivet gun? Where can I get a better description of the nut?

      Thanks, Dave Kitch
