    Cars in Registries?

Allthough the C1, C2 and C3 Registries are filled on a regular pace with cars which are still out there, I get a feeling that a lot of people haven't put there car in there yet. I was wondering if and why this is the case. So it would be nice to hear what your reasoning might be and maybe I can enhance the sites or change the PR strategy...

Be aware the sites are free of charge and it is not mandatory to fill in any personal information (privacy!!!) so I would be surprised if this would be persieved as an issue.

    thanks for your feedback,

    Re: Cars in Registries?

I tried to update the old entry for my 58 but your site would not allow me to do this as it said that the entry belonged to a former owner.

I would have to make a guess why there aren't more entries.

      1. Privacy - perception by some that any information is too much
      2. Lack of knowledge that the registries exist.
      3. What is the benefit to me by registering my car? (Maybe you need to expand on this.)

I have mine listed with what I feel is an appropriate amount of information to retain privacy.

        Re: Cars in Registries?

In addition to Jack's comments, most of the old phartz here have seen multiple registries come and go over the years, with each new one promoting itself as some sort of 'permanent' entity. Then the registry owner loses interest and disappears, along with the data.

There's the another issue of having multiple registries all operating at the same time.

Most people probably just get tired of re-entering the same data, with no apparent benefit, coordination or permanency.

          Besides all that....

entering displacement / hp / option information about a car one owns tends to limit "upgrade" opportunity for rascals like Mikie #14 and his cousin Billy in Lowbuck Texas.

            Re: Besides all that....

Well, you do something like list all '67s with 427, 435 hp, 4 sp, L89, TI, F41, ...

            All '68s as 427, 430 hp L88, 4 sp, F41, ...

            Same with '69s.

Then if you never upgrade, you can correct the item. Everyone checks on those L88s and 435s to see if they can find a previous record of it being a 300 hp, but who looks for a 300 hp to have ever been an L88 once upon a time?

Rob, I am having a problem in my login and there is no known way to edit my 57 270. Every time I attempt to logon I get a message that it has failed.
I get frustrated with somthing like this.

I was unable to enter my info. Then I forgot my password, went back in yesterday asked for my password to be sent and nothing so far. It's just not worth the hassle.
