I'm adding power windows to my early 1970, and would like to know the mounting location of the power window cicuit breaker. It is a 4-speed car with the TCS relay mounted on the left-center cowl vent support bracket. The AIM shows it to be in the general area of the TCS, but unclear as to its exact mounting.

Re: 70 Power Window Circuit Breaker Mounting
Lawrence if your 70 has a U shaped plastic coated wire and vacuum hose holder to the left of the relay, position body location just above this holder and inline with it with vertical mounting. When installed the main body of the circuit breaker will on top of the U shaped holders attachment rivet. The circuit breaker bracket mounting legs are pointed to the left fender. The relay is mounted into the cowling with two small bolts and screw into small well nuts, or at least that is what they are similiar to. This provides a rubber insulated mounting with no nuts on the opposite side of the cowling.- Top

Re: 70 Power Window Circuit Breaker Mounting
Jim, you mentioned half way through, the relay is mounted with well nuts, but did you mean the cicuit breaker is mounted with well nuts? The reason I ask is, the relay is mounted behind one of the 3 backing plates for the windsheild wiper transmission linkage (center plate, which is actually offset to the left a bit). The mounting screws for the relay pass through the relay, then the plate, gasket, firewall, and screw into the cowl vent support bracket.- Top

Re: 70 Power Window Circuit Breaker Mounting
Lawrence you are correct, I should of used the word circuit breaker instead of relay. My 70's circuit breaker is mounted with rubber well nuts to the cowl. Immediately to the left of the circuit breaker is a vacuum relay. Do you have the mounting bolts and well nuts with your circuit breaker for installation?- Top

Re: 70 Power Window Circuit Breaker Mounting
Lawrence I had to remove my vacuum relay to remove one of the two bolts used for mounting the circuit breaker. The removed bolt has a 5/16 head and has a real thin washer likeness but is not a separate washer. The bolt is about 1 1/16 inches total length and 10-24 thread. The cut threads are about 1/2 inch and the rest is smooth shouldered bolt about 3/8 inch. The washer likeness of the bolt is serrated.- Top
