      Ralph-------

The original radiator for your application was GM #3018802 and it was a copper/brass type radiator. It had an integral filler neck and no external supply tank was used. It's long-since GM-discontinued.

I don't know if DeWitts manufactures an exact reproduction of this radiator. However, they do manufacture an aluminum replacement for it. If you're not after strict originality, this radiator, when painted black like the original, will have a configuration very similar to the original. It's easily detectable as non-original, but it's very good. What's more, this radiator will provide cooling capacity about 30% greater than the original. So, if you're not into strict originality, but you are into great cooling capacity, this radiator is the way to go.

By the way, the DeWitts aluminum, direct fit replacement for the 69-72 big block copper brass radiator used for all big blocks except L-88/ZL-1/ZR-2 with manual transmission has a higher cooling capacity than ANY radiator EVER originally installed in ANY 1953-2006 Corvette INCLUDING the much-vaunted GM #3007436 HD aluminum radiator used for 1965 L-78, 67-69 L-88/ZL-1 with manual transmission and 1971 ZR-2 with manual transmission. PLUS it appears very similar to the original radiator and bolts in with no modifications, whatsoever. Have a 1969-72 Corvette big block, don't care about strict adherence to originality, and want greatly improved cooling capacity? If so, this is the radiator for you. It's also what I'm using in my "ZL-1" project. Absolutely. Positively. Period.

Thanks Joe. Food for thought. I will try to find a Harrison but when it comes time to complete that area I may take your suggestion and go for comfort. I live in the New Orleans area and all my cars run 160 degree thermostats and chips to keep them cool.
Thanks again for this needed info.

Re: part number needed for 1969 radiator

I just finished installing a DeWitt's direct replacement aluminum radiator in a '72 big block this afternoon. Absolutely a drop in fit. Once the shroud is on and the condenser is in front of the radiator it will take some close looking to notice that it is not the original

Dick, what about the harrison name on the side? Is this on the drop in?
            Thanks

Ralph there is no name on the radiator, but with the shroud on and as tight as it is on the RH side it would be hard to see.
