53 with a factory 3 speed?

I stumbled across this video. Around the 2 - 3 minute mark, there is a 53 that the owner claims has a factory 3 speed. Is that possible? I thought all 6 cylinder vettes had powerglides. Owner claims to have owned since 61. Thoughts?

Hi Don I say never say never,but this time I would, door handles? also not likely. Anyone out there have a 1958 Edsel Citation with a three speed, well the factory didnt make one,but I did, my friend Carl Meyer and I install a three speed in his car about 1966 and you could not tell, dont remember the donor car though.Phil 8063

Thanks Phil. Sounds like my skepticism was warranted in this case. I also think those door handles really look out of place.
