If your talking 57 FI when they first repro'ed them the alignment tab was missing, many years ago I wrote about that and then they added the tap. They are about right on but for the lid cover insulation material and retainer spot weld which most are off a little. If it has the tab it's the second repro'ed units and are nice will pass NCRS. What #number on e-bay??- Top

Re: 57 FI guys
I looked at the FI on e-bay it looks to be real having the second design lid insulation and retainer , the first design had a retainer like a three finger type also spot welded.
Here is a replacement I wrote about again years ago , fit and size is perfect in the 57 FI housing, it's from tractors and Studebaker cars having the blower . I don't know if AC still makes them?? This is the only one I have and dont need any more!

Re: 57 FI guys
OK the one on e-bay will pass NCRS , but not the filter, no one make a correct filter that I know of, what I showed you is the closet you'll find to original filter. If I see the other original FI lid in side area for sale on e-bay, I'll post it some day.- Top

Re: 57 FI guys
if anybody is interested in bidding on the FI airt cleaner, i'd ask the seller to look at the coplugs and have the seller describe the embossments inside the coplugs. also, originals are red and the ones on ebay appear to be yellow but that may well be a photo artifact. mike- Top

Glad to hear that...mine are red. I though they were caps used by Earls or Aeroquip to plug off the end of new AN fittings. LOL. They look the same.
