    C1 original gas pedal

Yes I know I may post to many pic's , but some people may like to keep a pic, library of real looking original parts so that some day they can compare them to repro's or second design parts.
After my posting any pic, I then remove them a day or later so as to not fill NCRS files up.

    Roy-----

This GM #3711379 pedal was not used for all C1's. It was just used for 1955 (with V-8) thru 1957 models. It was discontinued from SERVICE without supercession in May, 1985. For earlier and later C1's, other pedals were used. 1958 originally used GM #3748969; 1959 originally used GM #3760271 and 60-62 used GM #3771749. Each of these superceded the other for SERVICE of 58-60 models. Originally, I believe these pedals were of rubber construction. However, in March, 1963 the last of the original-style 58-62 pedals, GM #3771749, was discontinued from SERVICE and replaced, for SERVICE, by a plastic pedal of GM #3820328. This pedal continues to be available to this very day. Not correct, of course, for any 58-62, but functional.

The 53-55 (with 6 cylinder) pedal, GM #3658481, was discontinued in March, 1964 and replaced by GM #3753794. That pedal was discontinued without supercession in September, 1972.

By the way, you don't need to worry about taking up NCRS server space with the photos. On this board, the photos are actually stored on the server of the hosting service that you use. They are only DISPLAYED via link on this board. So, I don't think that very much capacity on the NCRS server is utilized. When you delete them from your hosting service account, though, they disappear from this board and are replaced by the "dreaded Red "X". So, I don't think that you have any need to delete them unless you need to free up space on your hosting service account for other reasons.

I realized that you didn't describe which years for C1 you were referring to and I figured you were talking about, at least, 1955 models. However, I just wanted to make sure that others didn't get the idea that you were speaking of ALL C1's. Then, since I was at it, I added a little more information on these pedals.

          Roy,

I noticed the AY on the gas pedal rubber. It struck me because I have retained a piece of my original 1961 dash pad that is also impressed with the letters AY.

What does AY represent? a specific company?
Could they have made dash pads as well as pedals?

Thanks for all the information! priceless!
