    66 bowtie or no-bowtie??

My 66 has correct dated glass on the outside mirror, but no bowtie. The judging manual says it should. I am hesitant to change it because I believe it could be original. So, did ALL 66's have the bowtie??? Will I lose points without it even with correct dated glass?

    Thanks, Brian

Brian - Best information indicates that the "bowtie" on the Corvette outside rear view mirror continued thru 1966 production (so all '66 had the "bowtie") and up to ~ VIN #8000 in 1967 production, so it seems unlikely that your car came from the factory with a plain mirror back. It could well be that you have the original mirror glass to the car but not the mirror body. I'd expect some deduction.
