1. Where do I find the chamber size specs for my car I have many reference at home. 2. What are the specs (cylinder size in CC's) for my heads. I have a stock 1971 LS5 454 AC/4sp.
I get that information from a variety of sources and I don't have it for every cylinder head that GM ever made yet. For performance cylinder heads, a lot of it can be found in the GM Performance Parts Catalog and the Chevy Power manual. Most of the rest of what I have comes from a number of obscure references which I happen to have in my library.
I was told by i believe Joe that the 71 LS5 head number3993820 is an open chamber head with 105cc combustion chambers and 2.06 and 1.72 valves. I have never seen the runner volume on these heads but would like to know them if you find out
Actually, the 3993820 casting has, nominally, 113 cc combustion chambers. Valve sizes are as you stated, though. Intake runner volume on these heads is, nominally, 260 cc.
