What shock would give the most judging points if you do not have the originals?
The rear shocks are monroes and the front are GM replacement. I think the front ones will be ok if repainted. Thanks to All, Gary
check Joe Lucia's most recent post on eBabe madness - one of them was about GM shocks that are STILL available, and relatively cheap! as a matter of fact, there are several eBabe auctions on-going for these shocks - they AC Delco shocks, with the "stickers" just peel the stickers off and paint them the correct "blue-grey" for the 1964 application - don't think there is a "standard deduction" for shocks, but would think you would take probably a 10-50% deduction on originality points
Gary, Email me before you buy the AC Delco shocks on ebay with the AC Delco decals. Meanwhile Rick and Joe maybe you saw some other type shock on ebay with AC stick on decals. Because the ones I bought back in October would not pass our judging. Or at least I wouldn't pass them. After removing the decal there is no indication what so ever what company even made or makes them. They do have Made in Mexico stamped very hard on them. John
