    C1: Emblem fastener - help

Every time I try to do something myself I run into these kinds of things. Can someone please tell me which of these (if either) is the correct fastener for the rear emblem bezel. Thanks.

    -Dave

      Re: C1: Emblem fastener - help-Dave

Dave, For '56 neither is correct, For most of '57 I believe neither is correct. Although the'57 JM states that the round speed clip is called for. I'm at issue with that statement. IF the round speed clip was used at all it would be late '57. I did some research on this round cllip and the drafting drawings were dated late '57. I don't want to get into an contestt hat drawing dates don't necessary indicate the intro of the part. I agree but un till something better comes along, I'll continue to believe that '56-'57 emblem fastners were the recatagular speed clip variety. Years beyond '57 I'm not familar withthe emblem fastners Regards, Jim

if its a 59 c-1, go with the speed nut on the right. as far as the left"thumb and forefinger butcher" is concerned, i put them on my 57's and will probably use it on the 56 as well. mike

I'll tell you boys a small secret, it's the same part number nut in the '60 assy manual as it is in '62. If you check the '59 assy manual (I don't have one) and the number is 1174584, on section E sheet 3, it's the same in '59 and it's the one on the left.
