    69 headlight ddor help

    hello all,

i am having the standard 69 headlight door issues, specifically the right headlight door won't go down (stuck in up position). when i restored the car, all the vacuum hoses, cannisters etc were replaced. i have 2 questions: #1- i am going to a charity car show this saturday and i'd like to attend but the car looks dumb with one headlight up. i tried to gently manually push the headlight down but it wouldnt budge. any ideas on a quick fix to get the headlight down (car show is during day)? #2- any ideas on the overall problems and things to look for/check? also is the "headlight door/vacuum troubleshooting guide" any good? thanks!

    Kenny,

Just reach up under the front nose through the openings meant to let air in to the radiator and pull on the overcenter jointed arm (this locks the headlamp assembly in the "up" position and it will fall down slowly on its own.

        Re: 69 headlight ddor help

There are photographs in the 1970 owner's manual of how to raise the headlamp housings -- lowering is almost the same. I would assume -- yea, yea, I know! -- the same instructions are in the 1969 version. I'm not critical of Warren's words -- I couldn't have said it better myself -- but sometimes a picture is worth a lot of words.
