C1 Any photos of Gen for 1960 high HP FI?

My recent post concludes generator 1102173 is for high HP FI only, per John H. Thank you sir!

Anyone have a photo or reference to position of the "terminals". Do they look anything like the one below? (Date code is 5E12, but part number is not legible.)

Also, is this one for 55 or 65? It has "oilers" on both ends.

    THANKS

Tom, are you looking for a description of the SHP or the standard distributor for a '60? The one you have there is a Pass car, as the Corvette generators all used a Ball Bearing in the rear case end to support the rear of the armature. I'm having some difficulty trying to see where you are going with this thread.

Thanks Bill: Sorry I was not clear. Perhaps this helps:

I would like to know how this one (pictured) differs from 11102173, which is the number of the SHP (non-tach drive) generator for 1960. You have pointed out the ball bearing in the rear, which is helpful information.

Bottom line: Is there any way this one (the pass car gen shown) could be made to look like a 11102173?

      Thanks again

Ok, the 173 uses a cast iron front and rear end frame, in addition to the ball bearing fittment into the rear end frame. There is a pretty good description in the fourth edition of the '61-62 Judging manual. The case itself looks similar to the one you have (and most every other chevy generator of the late 50's) but the end plates are very different, starting with the use of cast iron and going on from there. So I take it you are looking for a generator for a FI car?
