    glove box contents

The 1967 Techinical Manual & Judging Guide indicates my glove box contents should be: 1)owners manual, 2)an owners protection plan and warranty book, and 3)plastic envelpoe. I have items 1 and 3...regarding item #2, i have a Protect-O-Plate attached to a 3 3/4 x 6 card which reads..."because of a temporary shortage of 1967 Chevrolet Owner Protection Plan Booklets, this card has been provided to assist in obtaining Warranty services, should they be required."

" The attached Protect-O-Plate, delivery date and selling dealer information will identify you and your new Chevrolet. Keep this card in the glove compartment of your vehicle."

When the 1967 Owner Protection Plan Booklet becomes available your dealer will be prepared to assist in transferring the card information into the Booklet."

For whatever reason the "1967 Owner Protection Plan Booklet" is not with the car or never was. My question is this....do i need my Protecto-O-Plate in the glove box for judging? I prefer to leave it in a safe place and only bring a copy. Will i receive less point credit if i leave it at home? Recomendations appreciated.

Bring it with you, a photocopy is not acceptable for judging purposes. If you are fearful of its being damaged, keep it in a safe place and insert it into the bag on the day of judging.

      Richard,

The POP was originally inside of the warranty booklet. In your case, the car was delivered sans warranty book. The POP should be present for judging.

Don't worry about it. It is only worth one or two points.

          Richard,

Interesting what is the build of your car and VIN. Just woundering the time frame of the temporary shortage of 1967 Chevrolet Owner Protection Plan Booklets took place. I keep my glovebox contents in a safe palce too the glovebox. And you should have a trim ring card if you have stock wheels.

Re: glove box contents- Trim Ring Card

Kevin - Depending of the date of the car, the glovebox packet of early cars with stock wheels might not include the Trim Ring card as it has a date on it and it's sometime into the month of September if I remember correctly and then it would have taken sometime to get into the system. How about the AM/FM radio instructions for the radio. Looks like Richard has a rare POP, ought to get bonus points for the card that goes with it. As it came out of the factory.

No wonder very early car, don't need the trim ring card for sure. Any other Oct owners out there? What did you get with your cars? And bring your original POP to meets, most people will likely never see one again after yours.
